{Fun Friday} Fish Tank Art

Fun Friday

Fish Tank Craft {moorethanamommy.wordpress.com}

When I saw this craft on Daisy Cottage Designs {here}, I just knew it would be so much fun to do with Peanut this summer. It was super simple and used things that we already had around the house.

Supplies:

One paper plate (we didn’t have a plain white one, but the flowers on it were blue and green)

Blue and Green paint

Glue

White beans (or any beans you have on hand, you could also use small rocks)

Tissue paper, green or blue

Sticky backed foam (or just cardstock and glue)

Googly Eyes

We did this craft in three days so that everything would dry before the next step.

Step 1:

Paint the paper plate with blue and green paint. Let the paint dry before step 2.

Step 2:

Put glue on the bottom half of the plate and have your kiddo put the beans (or rocks) on the glue. Then cut the tissue paper (we used green) in strips and twist together at the end. Use a small amount of glue to adhere the tissue paper to the plate. Once the glue is dry, cut a fish shape out of the sticky backed foam (or cardstock) and glue a googly eye on it. Then, stick the fish to the plate.

That’s it! Super easy right? It turned out so cute too!

You may notice that there are a lot more beans on the plate in the other picture, that is because when we were done, Peanut decided it would be fun to pull them off and throw them on the floor for the dogs to eat! Oh toddlers.

What are some of your favorite crafts to do with your little ones?
